General
  1. The erstwhile District soldiers and Airmen,s Boards (DSS & AB) during the British regime were later designed as Zila Sainik Boards during 1972. The DSS & AB used to be administered through Secretary DSS & AB (who initially were non gazetted officers and then become class II officer) at the District leval under the Presidentship of deputy commissioner. Over the year various improvements took place and their functioning was vitally revitalized During 1983, the erstwhile Secretaries of these ZSBs were redesignated as district sanik Welfare officers with class I status. The appointment has again been redesignated as Dupty Director Sanik welfare wef 20 jan 89. the erstwhile District Soldiers and Airman,s Board jalandhar was estailshed during the year 1922

  5. Honours and Awards. In recognition og the outstading performance, this office has been conferred with Punjab State Awards/Parman Patra and eight Merit certificates.
  6. Ex-servicemen Rallies.Organized Ex-servicemen Rallies and War Widos Meets at District, State and national level and earned kudos from all quarters.
  7. Special Survey. On direction from Hon,ble Chief Minister, visited Villages Badal and around with a view to carry out Survey of the employed youth in the area and suggest measures for their employment /pre training for various vocation Submitted detailed Project Report after the survey through OSD for kind perusal of Hon,ble CM Further directions in this regard still awaited

    8. Care For Kargil Martyrs Families

    1. The NOK and parents of kargil casualties are given very caring attention and it is gratifying to record that all concessions/ benefits due to them have been secured and no case is pending
    2. 13 out of 18 dependent of Martyrs including 8 Martyrs families were given government job

  8. Special Recruiment- Punjab Education Department. Punjab Education Department has launched a special drive to recruit primary/ higher secondry teacher/ lectures. Lt Col Manmohan singh deputy Director Sainik Welfare Office Jalandhar was a member of the Department Selection Committee and through his hard work, he ensured that 13% quotq for ex-servicemen /their dependents is fully utilized and not a single vacancy waent abegging Total Ex-servicemen/ dependents recruited were 195. ( The best placement of ex-servicemen / dependents so far.)
