Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) is also centrally sponsored scheme co-shared between the centre &state in the ratio of 75:25. The objective of the scheme is provide houses to the members of scheduled caste in the rural area below the poverty line. Further this benefit has been extended upto the 40% to the non SC below the poverty line Rs.20000 is given as grant in aid for the construction of a new house, while Rs.10000 is given for the upgradation of semi Kutcha Pucca house. Apart from it loan of Rs. 40000 is granted by the bank with a subsidy of Rs. 10000 by the Govt of India under Credit cum Subsidy Scheme (a subsidiary of IAY )to the persons belonging to the SC community above the poverty line
The identification of the beneficiaries is done in the Gram sabha in the presence of block committee headed by the BDPO. Funds are released through Distt. Committee to the beneficiaries |
